The 2008 Toyota Sienna is a 4-door minivan that comes in four different trim levels, such as CE, LE, XLE and Limited. Toyota's quality and safety standard features are all there in this minivan. In the competitive family minivan segment, Sienna is the only model that comes in all-wheel drive, along with front-wheel drive. Depending upon the drive and body style, the roomy interior cabin of all the nine models are designed to accommodate seven to eight passengers. The 2008 Sienna models are just a carryover from 2007, without any major changes. Both the engine and the transmission are assembled at the Toyota Motor Manufacturing powertrain production facility located in West Virginia.
Automatic Transmission
All the latest models feature a standard DOHC 3.5-Litre V6 engine that produces 266 horsepower at 6,200 rpm and 245 lb.-ft. peak of torque at 4,700 rpm. Dual Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (Dual VVT-i) system operates on both the intake and exhaust valves to bring optimal performance and efficiency at all engine speeds. To make the V6 engine more powerful, it is mated to a five-speed automatic transmission with intelligence (ECT-i). It results in impressive acceleration that gives the Sienna the power to merge with confidence. Fuel economy is excellent for the class, with EPA city/highway gas mileage of 17/23 mpg for front-wheel-drive models and 16/21 mpg for all-wheel-drive models. Even though the Toyota Sienna's transmission is calibrated more for excellent fuel economy than performance, but its importance cannot be neglected also. In many ways it helps the engine to deliver its power in a quiet and refined manner.
The new Toyota Sienna minivan becomes a high-quality, reliable choice of transportation. The wide choice of model grades, combined with a wide array of standard equipment and features, makes the latest Sienna van a truly outstanding purchase.
